Frequently Asked Questions

We've listed some of the common questions we receive from borrowers about their student loan accounts with IDAPP and Edfinancial Services.  If you have a question about your IDAPP loan that is now serviced by Edfinancial Services, check out the information below to see if your question is listed.

  • I’m not able to access my account online.

You must first create an account at www.edfinancial.com/paynow in order to access your information online. In order to protect the privacy of your personal information, you will be required to select a unique username and password, security questions, and a site image.  Once the account is created, you will be able to login to check your account at any time.  Please be advised that your loan information will only be available online once your account is loaded to our system.

  • What if I don’t know my account number, and I don’t want to put my Social Security Number on the check?

If you do not feel comfortable writing your Social Security Number on the check, please provide us with your full legal name.  This will allow us to process your payments faster and ensure the payment is applied to the correct account.

  • My account was on automatic debit with IDAPP. Will this continue?

NO. If you are enrolled in an automatic payment program with your current servicer, your payment profile will be deactivated at the time of transfer. To continue automatic debit payments with Edfinancial, you will need to sign a new ACH agreement with us. You can access our ACH agreement form online or by contacting us directly at 1-800-337-6884.

  • What is Edfinancial’s payment mailing address?

Payments can be mailed to the following address:

    Edfinancial Services
    Department 888055
    Knoxville, TN  37995-8055

  • How can I authorize someone to discuss my account details with you?

If you would like to authorize us to provide information to a third party (for example, a spouse or relative), please complete the information release form and return it to us. The form is available online, but we can mail you a copy if you prefer.  Once we receive your written authorization, we will be able to discuss your account details with the authorized individual.

  • I never received information on the conversion from IDAPP.

We are currently in the process of sending out correspondence regarding the transfer of your loans from IDAPP to Edfinancial Services, and you should be receiving information in the mail from us shortly.  In the meantime, refer to www.edfinancial.com/idappinfo for updates and information on the transfer process.

  • Will I be assessed a late fee?

Late fees are not assessed until the account is 10 or more days past due.

  • Will the deferment or forbearance on my account transfer?

Yes.  The dates and conditions of the deferment or forbearance will transfer.

  • IDAPP accepted credit cards; do you?

Unfortunately, we do not accept credit card payments at this time. However, you may make a payment online or over the phone at no charge. We also offer an automatic debit payment program which will deduct payments each month from your checking or savings account. You can obtain the automatic debit form from our website, or one can be mailed to you if you prefer.

  • I made a payment to IDAPP after my loan transferred. Will they forward it? If so, when?

If a payment was made to IDAPP after the loan was being transferred to us, IDAPP will forward this payment to us.  It will take approximately 30 days to have the payment forwarded to us for processing.  The effective date of the payment will be the day the payment was originally received by IDAPP.

  • My account is past due; what are my options?

If you are not able to afford your monthly payment at this time, we have numerous options available to help you manage your student loan debt.  You may be eligible for an alternate repayment plan which could lower your minimum monthly payment. View our list of repayment plans to see which one might be right for you. If you are not able to make any payment at all, you may apply for a deferment or forbearance to temporarily delay payments on your account.  All of our deferment and forbearance forms are available online here.
