Edfinancial Services Announces New Vice Presidents

Knoxville, TN: National student loan servicer, Edfinancial Services, is pleased to announce two promotions. Brian Adkins has been named vice-president of e-business solutions and Chad Plemons has been named vice president of information technology, effective immediately. They report directly to John Farinella, executive vice president and chief operating officer.

Adkins has been with the company for three years. Prior to that time, he was a senior software consultant at ABS Consulting. Adkins coordinates the development, implementation and integration of enterprise information systems. He is a Certified Scrum Master for the Agile process and holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.

“One thing that sets Brian apart is his ability to communicate technical concepts across the corporation,” says Farinella. “He’s a highly effective conduit between executive management and the programmers and e-business specialists.”

Plemons joined Edfinancial Services six years ago. Formerly a senior network specialist at UT Medical Center, he oversees all aspects of information technology. Plemons holds degrees in computer science from Hiwassee College and in human resources from Tennessee Wesleyan College.

“Chad keeps our systems up and running with virtually no downtime,” says Farinella. “He’s unique, because his HR background gives him interpersonal skills to complement his technical expertise.”

Adkins and Plemons are part of a cohesive management team that drives this customer-driven student loan servicer.
