Changes for Edsouth/ESA Borrowers

Do you have an Edsouth/ESA student loan?

In June 2013, your Edsouth (Educational Funding of the South and Educational Services of America) loan(s) moved to a new student loan servicer - American Education Services (AES). Your loan(s) is still owned by Edsouth, it just won't be serviced by Edfinancial Services anymore.

We know you have questions about this change. Let us answer them for you!

Where do I send my payment?

The address for mailing payments for your Edsouth/ESA student loan(s) to Edfinancial changed on November 2, 2012 to Department 888310 Knoxville, TN 37995. You will make payments on your Edsouth/ESA student loan(s) to Edfinancial at that address until June 7, 2013. You may also make payments online. After June 7, 2013, you will send your payments to AES at the address below (note there is no street address).

American Education Services
Harrisburg, PA 17130-0001

AES will provide you with information regarding the different ways to make payments. You may also review various repayment methods on their website at www.aessuccess.org.

Edfinancial will stop posting payments to your Edsouth/ESA loan(s) as of June 7, 2013. Any payments made to us that were not yet posted to your account at the time of transfer, will be forwarded to AES. Once received by AES, the payment(s) will be effective for the date it was received by Edfinancial.

If you make your payments via a bill pay service, please ensure the service is updated with the correct payment address.

Will my auto-debit payments continue?

If you are already enrolled in auto-debit payments with Edfinancial Services, the bank account information used will be transferred to AES and your payments will continue to be automatically debited each month. Note that you may need to reapply for auto-debit with AES between June 7 and October 4, 2013.

What if I have loan(s) with a lender(s) besides Edsouth/ESA?

If you have an Edsouth/ESA loan(s) and a loan(s) with another lender serviced by Edfinancial, you will still have an account with Edfinancial Services. Only loans owned by Edsouth/ESA are moving to AES. If you have a non-Edsouth/ESA loan(s) serviced by Edfinancial, you may continue to receive two different statements (or ebills) with two separate payment amounts and mailing addresses. It will be important to mail each payment separately to the correct loan servicer. You may make payments to Edfinancial for your non-Edsouth/ESA loan(s) via Manage My Account.

What if I don't have an Edsouth/ESA loan(s)?

If you are not an Edsouth/ESA borrower, Edfinancial will remain your loan servicer. You may access your loans via Manage My Account.

How do I know if I have an Edsouth/ESA loan(s)?

Check your billing statements or other correspondence to see if the Edsouth logo is included. You may also visit the National Student Loan Data System at NSLDS.ed.govto view a centralized listing of your federal student loans. You will need your federal PIN(personal identification number) to access this information.
